Santorini Greece

SANTORINI, GREECE - The Greek isles are known for their beauty and splendor. Santorini is probably one of the best. Santorini was once part of a volcanic island called Thera, but around 1450 BC the center of the island exploded leaving what is now Santorini and some neighboring islands. These images were taken on a trip to this region of the world in September 2005. Usually, it is sunny and very hot at that time of year, but on this day, weather moved in and though it didn't rain where I was, it threatened to do so a large portion of the afternoon. That helped add drama to some of the images.
